Elektrogas PCS Gas Valve Closed Position Indicator Switch
The Elektrogas PCS is a mechanically activated position indicator switch designed to provide positive confirmation of the valve plate position on Elektrogas gas valves and actuators.
On compatible normally closed VMR and EVRM gas valves, the PCS monitors the closed position of the valve plate, providing an electrical switching signal for burner management systems, safety circuits, control panels and industrial gas installations. Under EN 161 requirements, the switch operates when the valve plate is within 1 mm of its closed position.
The PCS is available in versions to suit a wide range of Elektrogas VMR, EVRM, VMM and VMH gas valves, with each version supplied with the appropriate operating rod already fitted for straightforward installation. The switch assembly can also be rotated through 360° around the rod axis to assist electrical installation.

How the PCS Switch Works
On a normally closed Elektrogas gas valve, the valve plate presses against the PCS operating rod when the valve is closed. This changes the electrical contact to provide confirmation of the closed valve position.
When the valve opens, the valve plate moves away from the seat and releases the operating rod. An internal return spring then changes the electrical contact state.
This makes the PCS particularly suitable for applications where the control or burner management system requires confirmation that the gas valve has reached its safe closed position before another sequence can take place.

The PCS range is designed for use with Elektrogas gas safety valve systems and complies with applicable European requirements including the Gas Appliances Regulation, EMC, Low Voltage and RoHS. ATEX versions are available for hazardous-area applications in Zones 2 and 22. media_3438
