Description
1-1/2" Stainless Steel Pneumatic Shuttle Valve – AASV14
The AASV14 1-1/2" Stainless Steel Pneumatic Shuttle Valve is a high-flow air-piloted axial valve designed for ON/OFF control in pneumatic automation, air logic and industrial process systems.
Featuring a large 40mm orifice and straight-through axial flow path, the AASV14 delivers 683 L/min water flow at 1 Bar pressure differential while minimising pressure loss through the valve. Its bidirectional design provides efficient control of air, water, vacuum, oils, gases and other compatible process fluids.
Manufactured from 304 stainless steel (CF8) as standard, with 316 stainless steel (CF8M) available as an option, the valve operates from 0 to 16 Bar and can be configured for normally closed, normally open or double acting operation.
Valve Function & Operation
The AASV14 is a 2/2-way pneumatically operated axial shuttle valve designed for automatic isolation and control of liquids and gases.
The standard configuration is normally closed, with normally open and double acting configurations also available.
Operation is provided by an external pneumatic pilot supply through a 1/8" BSP connection and NAMUR interface.
Recommended pilot pressure: 3 to 5 Bar
Maximum pilot pressure: 8 Bar
Ports & Connections
Standard process connection: 1-1/2" BSP
Alternative connection options include:
✓ BSPT
✓ NPT
✓ Flanged connections
Pilot connection: 1/8" BSP
Pressure & Flow Performance
Operating pressure: 0 to 16 Bar
Orifice: 40mm
Water flow: 683 L/min at 1 Bar ΔP
Maximum media viscosity: 600 cSt
The large 40mm internal flow path provides excellent flow capacity while retaining a relatively compact pneumatically operated valve assembly.
Bidirectional Axial Flow Design
The AASV14 uses a straight-through axial flow path, helping reduce changes in media direction and restriction through the valve.
This improves fluid dynamics and helps minimise pressure drop and loss of flow, particularly useful in larger-bore, high-flow process applications.
The valve is also bidirectional, providing additional flexibility when designing automated pipework and fluid control systems.
Construction & Materials
Standard body: 304 Stainless Steel CF8
Optional body: 316 Stainless Steel CF8M
Internals: 304 Stainless Steel CF8
Standard seals: FKM / Viton
Optional seals: EPDM
The stainless steel construction provides good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance for demanding industrial applications.
Seal & Temperature Options
FKM / Viton
Operating temperature: -20°C to +150°C
Suitable for many compatible oils, gases and industrial process fluids.
EPDM
Operating temperature: -20°C to +130°C
Typically selected for compatible water and aqueous fluid applications.
The correct seal material should be selected according to the media, concentration and operating temperature.
Media Compatibility
Subject to material and seal compatibility, suitable media include:
✓ Vacuum
✓ Air
✓ Compressed air
✓ Compatible gases
✓ Water
✓ Most compatible oils
✓ Compatible process fluids
Fluids with viscosities up to 600 cSt can be accommodated.
For aggressive chemicals, fuels or specialist gases, compatibility with the selected stainless steel and elastomer materials should be confirmed before ordering.
DIN EN 12266 Class A Leakage
The AASV14 is specified to DIN EN 12266 Class A leakage, providing tight shut-off for industrial isolation and process control applications.
This makes the valve suitable where dependable closure and minimal leakage are important to system operation.
Optional Magnetic Position Feedback
Optional magnetic switches provide open and closed valve position feedback for connection to PLCs, relays and industrial control systems.
Magnetic switch specification:
✓ Open & closed position feedback
✓ Red LED status indication
✓ 10–30VAC/DC supply
✓ Maximum current 100mA
✓ Two PVC cables
✓ IP67 protection
✓ Temperature -10°C to +70°C
This allows the control system to confirm the actual mechanical valve position rather than relying solely on the pneumatic command signal.
Typical Applications
✓ Pneumatic control systems
✓ Air logic systems
✓ Industrial automation
✓ Compressed air systems
✓ Water control systems
✓ Vacuum applications
✓ Oil and lubricant systems
✓ Process fluid control
✓ OEM machinery
✓ Automated process equipment
Why Choose the AASV14?
The AASV14 combines a 40mm orifice and 683 L/min water flow with a robust 1-1/2" stainless steel axial valve design.
Its 0–16 Bar operating range, bidirectional operation and low pressure-drop flow path make it particularly useful for higher-flow applications where conventional valve designs may introduce greater restriction.
With 304 or optional 316 stainless steel construction, FKM or EPDM seals and optional open/closed position feedback, the AASV14 provides a flexible solution for industrial automation and process control.
