The LPU225D-08 is a high-flow 1" WRAS approved brass latching solenoid valve designed for ultra-low power potable water control applications.
This 2/2 way bi-stable solenoid valve uses short electrical pulses to open and close and requires no continuous electrical power to maintain either position.
Once operated, the valve remains in its last position without power until an opposite-polarity pulse is applied.
Featuring a large 25mm orifice, Kv flow factor of 165 L/min and WRAS approved EPDM seals, the LPU225D-08 provides efficient high-flow water control with exceptionally low energy consumption. It is particularly suited to battery-powered systems, remote water isolation, smart water management, metering and automatic shut-off applications.

Unlike a conventional continuously energised solenoid valve, the LPU225D-08 requires only a short electrical pulse to change position. The valve then remains mechanically latched in its last position without further electrical power.

Why Use a Latching Solenoid Valve?
Conventional solenoid valves generally require continuous electrical power to remain energised. A latching or bi-stable solenoid valve requires only a momentary electrical pulse to change position.
Once switched, the LPU225D-08 remains in its selected position without continuous power. This significantly reduces energy consumption and makes it particularly useful where battery life, heat generation or available electrical power is limited.
