Description
Latching (Bi-Stable) Solenoid Valve Coil System 13/30
The 13/30 latching solenoid coil system incorporates a built-in permanent residual magnet, allowing compatible 2/2 normally closed solenoid valves to be converted to latching (bi-stable) operation.
Unlike a conventional solenoid coil, continuous electrical power is not required. A short 5–20 millisecond DC pulse changes the valve position, after which the valve remains open or closed without continuous power consumption.
Ideal for battery-powered, remote and low-energy applications, including water control, irrigation, metering and portable systems. The 6VDC version can operate from 2 × AA batteries, subject to the batteries and circuit being capable of supplying the required pulse current.
Latching Operation
OPEN valve / remain open:
T1 = +ve
T2 = −ve
CLOSE valve / remain closed:
T1 = −ve
T2 = +ve
Only a 5–20 millisecond pulse is required to change valve state. Reversing the polarity changes the valve to the opposite position.
