Flanged Ductile Iron Normally Open Solenoid Control Valve – Z-Tide Industrial NOBFE-D Series
The Z-Tide Industrial NOBFE-D Series is a heavy-duty flanged 2/2 way normally open ductile iron solenoid control valve designed for reliable control of water and compatible non-corrosive fluids in large bore pipelines.
Featuring an externally piloted, pressure-assisted piston design with patented anti-water hammer technology, the valve remains open during normal operation and closes when electrically energised. This makes it particularly suitable for fail-safe water control, emergency cooling, pumping stations and industrial process systems.
Available from DN50 to DN1000 with PN16 flanges as standard, plus optional ANSI 150 lb and JIS10K flange drilling, the NOBFE-D Series combines exceptionally high flow capacity with controlled 3–5 second operation.
The heavy-duty ductile iron body is supplied with a protective epoxy coating, with an optional Munsell paint finish available where required for plant identification, project specifications or installation standards.

Heavy-Duty Industrial Construction
The Z-Tide Industrial NOBFE-D Series uses a heavy-duty ductile iron body with bronze piston and seating components together with stainless steel internal parts for dependable long-term service in demanding industrial environments.
Its patented cylindrical piston design and external pilot control system provide high flow capacity while helping to reduce damaging water hammer during valve operation. The controlled 3–5 second switching time is particularly beneficial on large pipelines where rapid valve closure could otherwise create substantial hydraulic shock.
The removable external pilot assembly also allows servicing of the control system without removing the complete main valve body from the pipeline, helping to reduce maintenance time and system downtime.
As a normally open valve, the NOBFE-D maintains flow when de-energised and closes when electrically energised, providing the required operating principle for many fail-safe water and cooling applications.
The ductile iron body is protected by an epoxy coating as standard, with an optional Munsell paint finish available to meet customer, plant or project specifications.
