Description
1/2" Automatic Compressor Condensate Drain Valve with Timer
The TimerDrain is a complete automatic condensate drain valve designed for reliable removal of water, oil and condensate from compressed air systems.
Combining a 2/2 way normally closed brass direct-acting solenoid valve with an adjustable electronic repeat-cycle timer, the TimerDrain automatically opens for a preset ON period and then closes for a preset OFF period. This provides regular condensate drainage without requiring manual intervention while helping minimise unnecessary compressed air loss.
Supplied as a complete ready-to-install assembly with 1/2" BSP connections, the TimerDrain is suitable for operating pressures from 0 to 16 Bar and is ideal for air compressors, receivers, refrigerated dryers, filters, moisture separators and industrial compressed air systems.

Adjustable Repeat-Cycle Timer
The electronic timer automatically energises and de-energises the condensate drain valve according to independently adjustable ON and OFF periods.
ON time determines how long the drain valve remains open.
OFF time determines the interval between each automatic drainage cycle.
This allows the drainage frequency to be matched to the amount of condensate produced by the compressed air system.
Standard Timer
ON time: 0.5 to 10 seconds
OFF time: 0.5 to 45 minutes
This range is suitable for most conventional compressor, air receiver, filter and moisture separator applications.
Extended Timer Options
Alternative timer ranges are available for applications requiring shorter pulses, longer intervals or extended valve operating periods:
0.5–10 seconds ON / 25–150 minutes OFF
20–300ms ON / 0.5–60 minutes OFF
0.5–60 minutes ON / 0.5–10 seconds OFF
0.3–5 minutes ON / 0.5–60 minutes OFF
0.5–10 minutes ON / 0.5–60 minutes OFF
0.5–10 seconds ON / 0.5–10 seconds OFF
0–20 minutes ON / 0–20 minutes OFF
0.5–60 seconds ON / 0.5–45 minutes OFF
0.3–30 seconds ON / 0.5–45 minutes OFF
0.5–10 seconds ON / 0.5–12 hours OFF
Optional Digital Timer
For applications requiring more precise control, a fully programmable digital timer is also available.
Timing range: 1 second to 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds
Operating modes:
ON → OFF Repeat
OFF → ON Repeat
Single Shot
The digital version is particularly useful for OEM equipment, process systems and applications requiring accurately defined drainage cycles.
How the Automatic Condensate Drain Works
During normal operation, the solenoid valve remains closed to prevent unnecessary compressed air loss.
At the programmed interval, the electronic timer energises the solenoid and opens the valve for the selected ON period, allowing accumulated condensate to discharge.
Once the ON period has elapsed, the valve automatically closes and remains closed for the selected OFF period before repeating the cycle.
Correct adjustment provides regular condensate removal while keeping the valve open only for as long as necessary.
Typical Applications
Air compressors
Compressed air receivers
Refrigerated air dryers
Compressed air filters
Coalescing filters
Moisture separators
Air distribution systems
Pneumatic machinery
Industrial compressed air systems
Process automation
OEM compressor packages
Automatic drain systems
Installation & Maintenance
Install the TimerDrain at a suitable low point where condensate naturally collects.
For best performance, the valve and drain connection should be periodically inspected for contamination or debris, particularly where compressor condensate contains oil, rust or particulate matter.
The adjustable timer should be set so that sufficient condensate is discharged during each ON cycle without leaving the valve open longer than necessary.
