Description

Rotex ATEX Ex d Explosion-Proof Solenoid Coil – II 18mm 20W

The Rotex II 18mm is a powerful 20 Watt ATEX Ex d explosion-proof solenoid coil designed for Rotex solenoid valves operating in hazardous gas and combustible dust environments.

Featuring an 18mm bore, the coil is available with either a red polyester powder-coated aluminium enclosure or 316 stainless steel enclosure, providing robust IP66/IP67 protection for demanding industrial and hazardous-area installations.

Available in 12V DC with surge suppression, or fully rectified 24V, 110V and 230V AC/DC versions, the Rotex II provides a versatile explosion-protected operator for compatible Rotex solenoid valve assemblies.

Coil Specification

Coil series: Rotex II
Bore: 18mm
Power: 20 Watts
Ingress protection: IP66 / IP67
The higher 20W power rating makes this coil suitable for compatible Rotex valves requiring greater magnetic force than the smaller III 14mm 8W operator.
Voltage Options
Available electrical configurations:
12V DC – with surge suppressor
24V AC/DC – fully rectified
110V AC/DC – fully rectified
230V AC/DC – fully rectified
The 24V, 110V and 230V versions are fully rectified, allowing the corresponding voltage coil to operate from either AC or DC input.

Explosion-Proof Enclosure

Available enclosure materials:
Aluminium with red polyester powder coating
316 stainless steel
The 316 stainless steel enclosure provides increased external corrosion resistance for demanding process, offshore and industrial environments.
Conduit entry: M20 × 1.5
Entry orientation: Horizontal

ATEX Explosion Protection

ATEX classification:
II 2GD
Gas protection:
Ex d IIC T4 / T5 / T6 Gb
Dust protection:
Ex tb IIIC T80°C / T95°C / T130°C Db
Ingress protection:
IP66 / IP67
This provides explosion protection for both hazardous gas and combustible dust environments when correctly installed as part of a compatible certified assembly.
Ambient Temperature
Maximum ambient temperature according to temperature classification:
T6: +55°C
T5: +70°C
ATEX Certification: TI22ATEX 278X

Typical Applications

The Rotex II 18mm ATEX coil is suitable for compatible explosion-proof solenoid valves used in oil and gas installations, chemical and petrochemical processing, refineries, process skids, tank farms, offshore equipment and hazardous-area process control systems.

Why Choose the Rotex II 18mm Coil?

The key difference with this coil is its 20W high-power output combined with an 18mm bore and ATEX Ex d protection.
Compared with the smaller Rotex III 14mm 8W operator, the II 18mm provides substantially greater solenoid power for larger or higher-pressure compatible valve constructions while retaining IP66/IP67 gas and dust hazardous-area protection.
