ATEX Ex d 400 Bar High Pressure Solenoid Valve – Rotex 20116V01
The Rotex 20116V01 is a heavy-duty ATEX Ex d explosion-proof high-pressure solenoid valve designed for demanding hazardous-area applications operating at pressures up to 400 Bar.
Featuring true direct acting operation, the valve operates from 0 Bar without requiring a minimum pressure differential. Its 316 stainless steel CF8 construction, PTFE seat and seals, and exceptionally wide -60°C to +180°C media temperature range make it particularly suitable for high-pressure gas, process and industrial fluid control.
The 20116V01 also provides bubble-tight shut-off, resistance to vibration up to 9G, cycling speeds up to 300 operations per minute and a life expectancy exceeding 2 million cycles.
Valve Function & Operation
Function: 2/2 way normally closed
Operation: Direct acting
The valve remains closed when de-energised and opens when electrical power is applied.
Unlike pressure-assisted high-pressure valves, the direct acting 20116V01 requires no minimum pressure differential, allowing operation throughout its specified pressure range from 0 Bar.
Pressure: 0 to 300 or 400 Bar according to selected orifice
Ports: 1/4" or 1/2" NPT
Orifice: 1.2mm or 1.6mm
Water flow: 0.5 or 0.6 L/min at 1 Bar ΔP
High Pressure Performance
The Rotex 20116V01 combines very high working pressure with a compact direct acting design.
Its small precision orifice enables reliable switching at pressures where larger-orifice conventional solenoid valves cannot operate directly.
Performance features include:
Bubble-tight shut-off
Vibration resistance: Up to 9G
Maximum cycling: 300 cycles/minute
Life expectancy: >2 million cycles
Mounting position: Any position
Construction & Materials
Body: 316 stainless steel CF8
Wetted internals: 316 stainless steel
Seat: PTFE
Seals: PTFE
Shading ring: None
Using 316 stainless steel throughout the wetted components provides excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical durability for demanding high-pressure applications.
Temperature & Media
Media temperature: -60°C to +180°C
Suitable media include:
Air
Inert gases
Water
Compatible industrial fluids
Media compatibility must be confirmed against the 316 stainless steel and PTFE wetted materials for the specific application.

Typical Applications
The Rotex 20116V01 is particularly suited to high-pressure hazardous-area applications including oil and gas installations, petrochemical plants, high-pressure inert gas systems, nitrogen control, pressure testing equipment, process skids, chemical processing, industrial gas control and specialist OEM machinery.
Its combination of 0–400 Bar direct acting operation and -60°C to +180°C media capability also makes it valuable where conventional pressure-assisted high-pressure valves are unsuitable.
Why Choose the Rotex 20116V01?
The key advantage of the 20116V01 is its ability to provide direct acting control from zero differential pressure up to 400 Bar while retaining ATEX Ex d protection.
Combined with 316 stainless steel wetted construction, PTFE sealing, bubble-tight shut-off, 9G vibration resistance and a wide media temperature range, it provides a robust solution for critical high-pressure applications in hazardous environments.
