Description
ATEX Ex d 225 Bar High Pressure Solenoid Valve – Rotex 20126 / 20126V01
The Rotex 20126 / 20126V01 is an ATEX Ex d explosion-proof high-pressure solenoid valve designed for demanding hazardous-area fluid and gas control applications at pressures up to 225 Bar.
Featuring 2/2 way normally closed, direct-acting operation, the valve requires no minimum pressure differential and can operate from high vacuum through to high positive pressure. Depending on the selected orifice, operating pressure extends from 0 to 225 Bar.
Standard construction uses a 316 stainless steel CF8 body with stainless steel internals, with brass or aluminium body options available. Combined with bubble-tight shut-off, 9G vibration resistance, cycling rates up to 1000 operations per minute and a life expectancy exceeding 10 million cycles, the 20126 range is particularly well suited to demanding hazardous-area process applications.
Valve Function & Operation
Function: 2/2 way normally closed
Operation: Direct acting
The valve remains closed in its normal de-energised state and opens when electrical power is applied to the solenoid.
Because the Rotex 20126 / 20126V01 is direct acting, it does not depend on upstream pressure to operate.
Operating pressure: 0 to 225 Bar depending on orifice
This zero-differential capability also makes the valve suitable for applications extending into high vacuum.
High Vacuum to High Pressure
The Rotex 20126 range offers an unusually broad operating envelope:
High vacuum: Down to 10⁻⁶ Torr
Positive pressure: Up to 225 Bar
Maximum pressure depends on the selected orifice and valve configuration.
This makes the range particularly useful where conventional pressure-assisted solenoid valves cannot operate because there is insufficient pressure differential.
Ports & Connections
Available BSP connections:
1/8" BSP
1/4" BSP
3/8" BSP
1/2" BSP
Optional NPT threads are available.
The combination of multiple connection sizes and a wide selection of internal orifices allows the valve to be configured around the application's required pressure and flow characteristics.
Orifice & Flow Options
Available orifices:
0.8mm
1.2mm
1.6mm
1.8mm
2.2mm
2.5mm
3.0mm
3.5mm
4.0mm
5.0mm
Water flow: 0.5 to 7 L/min at 1 Bar pressure drop, depending on selected orifice.
As pressure capability varies with orifice diameter, the required working pressure, port size and flow rate should be considered together when selecting the valve.
Construction & Materials
Standard body:
316 stainless steel CF8
Optional body materials:
Brass
Aluminium
Internals:
Stainless steel
Shading ring:
Copper standard
Silver optional
Without shading ring optional
The standard 316 stainless steel construction makes the valve particularly suitable for demanding industrial environments and a broad range of compatible process media.
Seal & Media Compatibility
Available seal materials:
NBR
FKM (Viton®)
EPDM
PTFE / FKM
Hytrel
Suitable media include:
High vacuum
Air
Water
Gases
Compatible process fluids
The correct seal and body configuration should be selected according to the particular medium, pressure, temperature and chemical compatibility requirements.
High-Speed Performance & Reliability
The Rotex 20126 / 20126V01 combines high-pressure capability with impressive mechanical performance:
Bubble-tight shut-off
Vibration resistance: Up to 9G
Maximum cycling: 1000 cycles/minute
Life expectancy: >10 million cycles
These characteristics make the valve suitable for demanding automated equipment where both high operating pressure and frequent switching are required.
ATEX Ex d Explosion Protection
The valve uses an ATEX-certified explosion-proof Rotex II solenoid operator.
ATEX certificate: TI22ATEX 278X

Typical Applications
Typical applications include high-pressure process systems, hydraulic and pneumatic control, compressed gases, high-pressure test equipment, oil and gas installations, petrochemical plants, chemical processing, process skids, refineries and other hazardous-area fluid-control systems.
The combination of direct acting operation, high vacuum capability and pressures up to 225 Bar makes the 20126 particularly useful where conventional pilot-operated valves are unsuitable.
Why Choose the Rotex 20126 / 20126V01?
The key advantage is the exceptionally wide operating range from 10⁻⁶ Torr high vacuum through to 225 Bar positive pressure, combined with direct-acting operation and ATEX Ex d hazardous-area protection.
With standard 316 stainless steel construction, ten selectable orifice sizes, bubble-tight shut-off, 9G vibration resistance and >10 million cycle life, the 20126 / 20126V01 provides a highly configurable solution for demanding high-pressure hazardous-area applications.
